Intro and Verse: C#-F#-F#-C#
C# F# C#
Well I don't wanna be President
Superman or Clark Kent
I don't wanna walk 'round in their shoes
'Cause I don't know who's side I'm on

I don't know about you

FastBall-Fire escape

Standard tuning
This is kinda hard to play. But if you use index to hold
the "3's" and your pinky to get that "7", you'll be fine.
Verse:
Riff 1(intro too)

If you want to you can mix Dsus2 with the Ds in the verse and it will
sound pretty good . But it sounds sweet like this too.
Verse
D
I dont want to be president superman or clark kent
G D
I dont want to walk around in thier shoes
D
cause I dont know whos side i'm on i dont know my right from wrong
G D
I dont know where i'm going to

Okay now...THIS is the easiest version...probably. In this, you play it in D,
but it's really in C#, so just tune your guitar down a hlaf-step, it'll make it easy.
Here's the intro and what I'm going to call the "D riff." Just strum along with the recording
D D
-2--3--3--2
-3--3--3--3 there, the "D riff"
-2--5--4--2

"Fire Escape"- Fastball
the other tabs were ok...but the intro's didn't sound right to me so this is my version
it as you will
INTRO
e|-----------2--------2--------1--------------------------------------------|
B|-----2--------2--------2--------2-----------------------------------------|
G|--------1--------1--------1--------1--------------------------------------|
D|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--4-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
or you could tune it down a half step and alter what i did which should probably be easier...

Notes:
Capo on the 4th fret to match Fastball’s recording. Use chord forms as
noted, rather than starting off in C# as the song is written.
If you’re playing along with the recording, the primary rhythm guitar does
not articulate all the chords in the first two lines of each verse.
Instead, just hang on the “A” chord while the bass plays out the “G”
and “D”. If you’re playing at a campfire you need to play all the chords
in the verse to properly accompany the vocal melody.
For the intro riff (and the riff at the end of each verse) you should
ignore the high “E” string and catch the key notes on the “B” string (and
note that for the “G” chord in this riff you should play the 3rd fret on
the “B” string, not the high “E” string – this will create the ring on that
note the riff requires).

Standard tuning (EADGBE)
Great song by Fastball. The lead is pretty easy to find, but it took me a
while to figure out the rhythm behind. Here's my interpretation, which is a
mix of ear and watching them play the song live... the timing is
approximate, so please listen to the song to get the strumming right. Hope
that helps... email me (jfgenie2@hotmail.com) if you have corrections and/or questions!
