ROCK STAR by Hole

Ah, the classic mistitled closing track to 1994's Live Through This, originally known as
"Olympia". I've read through lots of tabs for this song and I think people are
over-thinking it. It's really just pure, good old-fashioned power chords. There are
obviously two guitars in the song (Courtney Love is playing clean rhythm and Eric Erlandson
is playing
lead heavily distorted). The two opening chords that ring at the beginning are played
clean, and this is repeated one other time in the song, but for the majority of it Love is
playing clean under Erlandson's heavily-distorted guitar. Easy song to learn for
beginners, and a pretty fun one too. Love's screaming vocals here are some of her best.

This is the original version of Rock Star by Hole...the one that didn't make the final
on Live Through This. The song on Live Through This was actually called 'Olympia' but
the artwork wasn't changed, it got called Rock Star anyway. You can find the original
Star on bootlegs or over the internet somewhere.
